I loved this article in the Washington Post about a couple that doesn't live anywhere near the ocean, but created a "beach house" for themselves anyway. Lauren and Kevin Russell, the talented couple behind the furniture company Russell & Mackenna, gave their Severna Park, Maryland a fun and fresh beach vibe.
Thanks to Jeanette for sending me the link to this article! Click here to read more and see the slideshow of their home.{This beach house-without-a-beach has me hooked! Hop over to the Hooked on Fridays party I'm throwing at my other blog to see what's making everyone else happy this week!}
Wow, their house is AWESOME!! I love the picture of their living room. I'm gonna head over there and check out the rest.

ReplyDeleteThis is good. Every house can be a beach house. Those blue chairs and yellow stools make me smile.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cheerful house! It just makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteI was happy to find out you have two blogs...I'm a fan!
If you can't bring your house to the beach, then bring the beach to your house!! :-)
ReplyDeleteThey really did a nice job of giving their home a beachy feel without being too themey or OTT. Maybe with the exception of the fish chairs ;-) They're just too cute!!

I am all for beach houses that aren't at the beach!!! I only have one room in my house that actually looks totally 'beachie' though - guest bedroom. I love walking in there!

i read this in the post last weekend. i love that they acknowledged budget constraints. that's refreshing!
ReplyDeleteJulia doesn't this look so welcoming and comfortable? It's what I love about the coastal look. No muss No fuss. We don't worry about the sand tracked in, or the the beds unmade. Come in your flip flops and stay as long as you like.
ReplyDeleteI have those exact same kitchen chairs painted that exact same color. Too bad they're leaving to make way for a cream-colored banquette. Now I'm going to have to go look at the rest of the pictures of their house, it looks so soothing.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I'm in love with their living room/family room! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic way to live. Just creating your own atmosphere regardless. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI featured this house in Cottage Style several years ago. It's fun to see how it's changed.
ReplyDeleteLove it, Love it, Love it!
