A Pretty Blue Townhouse

I love the new developments that make an effort to create some of the charm of older neighborhoods. This row of townhomes, for instance, is part of the Beacon Hill neighborhood being built in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was checking out their Longfellow model online and was surprised to see they decorated it in soft blues and yellows--not the dark and more traditional colors I was expecting. It gives it a light and airy almost beachy vibe. If I lived here, I think I could easily pretend there was a water view outside these windows!

I thought it was interesting how they lined the tops of the kitchen cabinets with apothecary jars. I've never seen anyone do this before. Not sure I like it, but it does add some color:

Do you like it? It makes me want to paint one of my rooms this pretty shade of blue. To see the rest of the rooms from this home and other models available, go to the Beacon Hill Townehomes website.

P.S. Today I'm featuring a kitchen makeover over at Hooked on Houses that I think you'll like. Check it out if you get a chance!

  2. I'm in LUV. This blue is stunning. Definitely not what I would have expected from the exterior, but it's perfect. The dining room is beautiful.
I've never seen the apothecary jars on top of cabinets before either. Not sure if I like it or not.
    GREAT house sharing. Thanks!!!

  3. Gorgeous! That kitchen is really amazing and it looks like it's got a nice view of the patio outside as well. I always wonder...do the people who live in these amazing homes really appreciate them?

  5. I love the windows in the townhouse. The only thing I think about when I see people store things up high on a cabinet the way the jars are displayed is DUST.

  9. Stop the world - this townhome is AMAZING!! LOVE it!! Like you, I'm not so keen on the apothocary jars. I think my antique green glass jars would be a better fit! ;)

  10. Love the colors here, of course! The house is staged within an inch of it's life, but so, so, so very much better than the photo-shopped house on your other site today!
You certainly keep me busy with both blogs!
    ...thanks!
