Photo credit: Coastal LivingThis photo from Coastal Living magazine has convinced me that my life won't be complete until I've had a yellow Dutch door just like this one. Oh, and I want it to open onto a porch overlooking the water the way this one does, too. Why not dream big?
For now, at least I have a white table in my dining room and I can put Ball jars with flowers in them like they did. That's a start, I guess.
I wonder if I can convince my husband to paint our front door yellow and saw it in half?

This yellow Dutch door is what I'm hooked on today. To see what everyone else is hooked on, check out the Hooked on Fridays party in full swing on my other blog!
What is it about these Dutch doors that is so charming? And I always love (as you can imagine) that subtle beachy touch -the starfish in the window.
ReplyDeleteWell, if you can convince him to paint your door and cut it in half and he messes it up, that gives you the perfect excuse to buy a brand new yellow Dutch door :-)
ReplyDeleteFor sure dream big!! That's the only way to go!!

So lovely!! I like the blue screen door also! But of course the best is the sea view!! Lovely image to start my weekend. Thanks: Julie

ReplyDeleteI love that picture. I so want a white table like that!
ReplyDeleteI love that door. I think the color really helps to make it special.
ReplyDeleteYour husband should totally let you saw your door in half and paint it!! :) I love the look too!

ReplyDeletewow... we don’t see those very often! very cool...!
ReplyDeleteOh I am not even a "yellow person" and I love this. So, so charming. I have plenty for flowers too, lol... ~Brooke
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted a dutch door and it wouldn't even have to be yellow! They are so full of character! We all need a window seat and a dutch door. It should be a standard feature in all homes.
ReplyDeleteOh my god Julia you made me laugh out loud. I think it would be so awesome if you painted your front door yellow and sawed it in half. HAHAH! I LOVE that image. I've actually been thinking about painting my front door a nice bright blue - it's currently black and boring.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend!
Love the yellow - especially with the teal of the screen door surround
ReplyDeleteI too love dutch doors. I've had that "Hey honey, let's cut the door in half. A dutch door is a great idea" conversation. So far it hasn't worked on the house, but he's gonna do it on the kids playhouse. Maybe I can just go hang out out there. ;)

ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful and makes me wonder which door I can saw in half too. haha Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Why not just surprise him and cut and paint your door while he's at work!? But I'd suggest a nice dinner in the table and answer the door in something special. lol
ReplyDeleteGreat image! I hope that you really can get this lovely door some day!!
ReplyDeleteLove it!! It's so beachy and happy looking! Good luck with getting your husband to cut your door in half!! I know I always have crazy projects for my husband to do~
ReplyDeleteI love it too. My husband would never let me saw the door in half though. Maybe under the right circumstances I could have one- I'd probably have to have a beach cottage for it to work :) Dreaming...
ReplyDeleteLovely beachy room -- great door! I love old doors, of any style. The "raw" walls of this cottage remind me of the summer house we had when I was a little girl -- just the definition of cottage! And 'way back in 1960, my Mom painted the bungalow refrigerator watermelon pink!

Julia, I would like to purchase both the Dutch door and screen. I have looked online and cannot find either. Do you know the source of both or either?
