I spotted this little Nantucket cottage on Florida Sue's blog recently. It's owned by designer Jeffrey Bilhuber and was featured in Architectural Digest a few years ago, so I looked up the interior photos. Here are some of them:

My favorite room may be the enclosed back porch:
You can see the rest of the photos at Architectural Digest, including "before" pictures that show what an amazing transformation this little cottage went through.P.S. If you like the white-picket-fence look, then check out the traditional white house from the "Father of the Bride" movies that I'm featuring on my other blog today.
It's like finding that perfect teensy little sea shell on a beach walk.
ReplyDeleteOh I love this house. Love nantucket too!
ReplyDeleteThat was a major transformation! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis is a sweet slice of beachy paradise. I am currently redoing my front bathroom in a seaside theme and your blog is providing fantastic inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteooooooooooo What a pretty house! Loving that beachy vibe!
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that? I just love the exterior and that couch looks so comfy. I could definitely see myself curled up on it reading a book.
ReplyDeleteOh I want to move in there!
ReplyDeleteWe're all lovin' the same cottages! I have this cutey features sometime back in Nov 08..., also check out how many folks love Jane Coslick (and showed her Tybee Island cottages), I put up a list on my today's post on my new blog A Beach Lovers Place..., and these were just the ones I knew and/or found in a few minutes..., and we all show them differently!
ReplyDeleteOne of the few real cottages left that hasn't been "renovated" to death, it's BEAUTIFUL, and so tastefully done, without being pretentious or overdone. It's a shame so many of these original cottages have been torn down. I know, I've lived here on the Cape for over 30 yrs. BRAVO to this little gem!

Love those HUGE glass floats! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love the clean simple look of this home. I am always so surprised because you think that a beach cottage will always be all whites or pastels and then when you see one like this, it's a surprise.

OMG. LOVE!! My Dad just got back tonight from Scotland, and he stayed in what he called a "doll house". I am so mad he didn't even take any pictures!

ReplyDeleteWE love those F of B movies - they are the best!
**sigh**
ReplyDeletehaving been lucky enough to have lived on Nantucket for not long enough, that sure has summed up the life style just beautifully
I am loving this blog of yours! My house here in the foothills seems to be getting "beachier" all the time... Nantucket and Cape Cod style though, not California (which is where I am). If it weren't for the brutal winters, I'd move to the Cape in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie its just devine, I would love to own that Nantucket property how gorgeous loving everything about it thanks for showing :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute. Would certainly make me happy. I also love the FOB house (and movies). Good for a dose of the happy family feeling:) Julie

ReplyDeleteI love that enclosed porch! Just looks like a wonderful place to relax and read a book.
