I spotted this Indian Key Chest on the Cottage & Bungalow website and wish I had an extra $2,645 sitting around to buy it. So pretty--especially in the beach house setting.I even like the description of the colors: "Shown in Butter Pecan with Blueberry Crisp accent." Yum. Sounds good enough to eat.
Today is Hooked on Fridays, a blog party I host on my other blog at the end of the week to celebrate the things that make us happy. Come join us!
The chest is really nice -- can't go wrong with pecans and blueberries!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou might be able to find a similar piece at a garage sale or flea market, and then you could paint it to look like this one. Would cost a lot less than $2,645!!

"Butter Pecan with Blueberry Crisp"... sounds so much nicer than creamy yellow & denim!
ReplyDeleteThat is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! You could recreate this look yourself you know and save $2500... I'd love to see you try. Let us know if you do.
ReplyDeleteI love the description too... perhaps thats why they have to ask 2 grand for it! I would me keeping my eye out for a chest of drawer I could paint myself like that... some paint and painters tape and a week end... Oh yeah...Have a wonderful weekend!

There's a chest in IKEA that one of your talented readers could decorate like this really easily. (If anyone does, could you send the photo to Julia please?)My Scottish bungalow isn't very big but functions well because I've designed all the arrangements and furniture to work as hard as possible. It means I can no longer be as creative with buying new bits of furniture as I used to be. That's one of the reasons I love to see other folk being so creative with theirs!
ReplyDeleteCreating a fantasy blog where I can have all my dream rooms and bits of furniture really appeals!
Great chest!! Nice blog, too. You're a busy lady doing two and more. cheers, -susan
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I love the room too. Painted floors and ceiling and walls. Very beachy!
ReplyDeleteHow much!!! lovely & fresh though.
ReplyDeleteLove the chest and also the blue bottle on top of it.
ReplyDeleteThat piece was stunning....now the little problem of coming up with all that money. Why does everything have to cost so much?:)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend friend.
Very cute! Why don't you buy two while your at it?
ReplyDeleteKarla & Karrie
Everything, including expensive Key Chests, look better at the beach. I love the lobster on top.
ReplyDeleteButter Pecan with Blueberry Crisp is the perfect lure to part with 2thousand green bits
ReplyDeleteWhen people take the time to use descriptive color names it adds so much extra flavour
What? You don't have $2,645 just sitting around waiting for something to do?
ReplyDeleteI think you could take a plain Jane chest from Ebay or Craigslist, for less than a hundred bucks, and with a steady hand and LOTS of patience and care, reproduce a respectable clone of that pretty chest.
Or, just smear it with Butter and Blueberries; it might work.
It's adorable, though -- but OUCH what a price tag!

OMG, $2645.00???????? I agree with the other bloggers. I know you can re-create a similar piece from a yard sale of thrifty store! Love your blog, Blessings, Janna
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.. Lovely chest. Let me see... exchange rate, postage..perhaps not. I think the others are onto a good idea. DIY. You could challenge everyone to replicate this little beauty.
ReplyDeleteJulia, I agree with Kelly. I bet you could have the same feel with just painting another chest. Connie
ReplyDeleteSounds like an ice cream flavor.
ReplyDeleteThat is a truly lovely piece!
