How fun is that yellow oven? And how great is that kitchen island? When I spotted this photo (from Canadian House & Home), I fell in love. Yellow kitchen love.
What do you think of colored appliances like this one? Would you ever consider buying one? What color would you choose?
As a girl who grew up in a home with dated brown appliances, I'd be afraid to spend that much on a color that I might grow tired of in a few years. But I'll never say never. Right now this yellow is looking pretty good to me!
I'm linking this post to Hooked on Fridays, a blog party that celebrates the things that make us happy. This kitchen is what I'm hooked on this week. Visit Hooked on Houses to see what everyone else is talking about--or to join the party yourself!
Wow, a yellow oven. It is quite striking in that white kitchen.

I have fallen in love with yellow recently. I am trying to convince my color hating spouse that black, white and yellow would be a great bathroom...wish me luck with that.
ReplyDeleteOh! That is fantastic! I think I'm too sensible to buy a colored appliance like that. I love it when other people do though.
ReplyDeleteWhen I go to Lowe's and see the beautiful cherry red front-loading washer and dryer I drool over them. But in reality I'd probably buy white or stainless. I get tired of colors quickly.
I LOVE that yellow stove. I think it would make me happy for a good, long time.
ReplyDeleteNope, no colored appliances for me ... we went thru the turquoise, brown, gold NEVER AGAIN! TTFN ~Marydon
ReplyDeleteUm, I just fell in love. HOLY COW. That kitchen is amazing and there is nothing like yellow to make me feel better.
ReplyDeleteI want that.

I'd love to have coloured appliances. I'd go with cobalt blue :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of yellow, but I'm digging that yellow stove and the painting of the big yellow flowers :-)

I do love the oven but I'm not sure how long I could live with the giant flowers on the wall. I love the giant table too.
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow flowers on the wall! As for the yellow oven, aren't most of us afraid to be that bold with something we hope will last for years?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't do it. The "in" colors change so quickly, that you'd be left with a dated appliance.
ReplyDeleteI would absolutely go with a color if I could afford one those fabulous appliances that look vintage but are thoroughly modern. My choice would be pale pink, pale blue or gray. Stainless looks urban to my eye... gray would make me very happy.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the yellow stove. What a great way to add a pop of color, I think if I were to get a colored stove, I wouldn't mind having a navy blue one!
ReplyDeleteSOooo gorgeous! Yellow is so happy to me! And of course, this is Canadian design, so I'm loving it even more! Tee Hee!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it...LOVE it...and did I say, LOVE it?
ReplyDeletegreat post...
Hi Miss Julia! What a happy color. I always seem to forget about yellow...shame on me because it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Just a perfect pop of color in an all white kitchen.
ReplyDeleteWow now that is yellow hee my first ever home I did a blue & yellow kitchen, blue cupboards & yellow walls, it was bright & warm! wonder if its still there? It was 12 years ago so who knows? I think your picks are more stylish though & would not date for a long time. Have a good weekend Julie :)
ReplyDeleteI've been really looking at Big Chill appliances, but I am terrified that I will become tired of a color and will want to change it too quickly. But, if I did dare...
ReplyDeleteI have been looking at the red.
I'm not a yellow person, but i do LOVE that island!
ReplyDeleteLoving that big yellow flower print!! And that stove I have never seen anything like it. It's really neat! Daisy~
ReplyDeleteWow! What a fun space. I probably would buy a colorful appliance. That's just the crazy kind of gal I am. Thanks for sharing that...beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteJulia, you've featured my new stove (mine isn't yellow) and farm table! How cool to see both at the beach.
ReplyDeleteI think I could forever be happy with a old red or aqua stove! :)
ReplyDeleteThis kitchen is too much fun! Probably wouldn't purchase such colorful appliances myself but I certainly admire people that do.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I'd want my stove to be cooler than me! That bright yellow is a lot for the rest of your home to live up to as well! If pressed, I'd choose white. And decorate with a lot of bright yellow bowls... oh wait, that IS what I did :)
ReplyDeleteYes, too scary for me, also. But the huge yellow piece of art on the wall seems less terrifying as a commitment.
ReplyDeleteI could go for aqua blue. Both oven and fridge : )
ReplyDeleteI know you like yellow, and I am with you all the way. I would love that great big lovely yellow oven and matching refrigerator. Why not?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely LOVE it! And also, that gorgeous painting on the wall! If only I could be so bold!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure I could do a colored appliance but I do like the idea of one for coordination purposes.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to see, but I'm absolutely with you...I think such a bold color would weary me over time. And what an expensive commitment it would be!
ReplyDeleteDon't remember introducting myself...found your blog fairly recently and I'm loving it!
I love yellow in the kitchen. If ever I was to buy colored appliances, yellow is the only color I'd consider for them.
ReplyDeleteLove,love, love that kitchen!
ReplyDeleteI suppose you might grow tierd of a colored appliance, but it seems like a yellow one would at least always make you feel cheery and happy! I like it:)
ReplyDeleteT
Hmm...how do i convince hubby of brightly colored appliances? I'd love a turquoise stove - with chrome accents!
ReplyDeleteThat yellow oven is too fun and cool! I just love it!
ReplyDeleteWow! I really like it! I think I probably wouldn't ever buy one, though - that's a big color commitment to have to live with for a long time. But I love how cheerful it is. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the pop of color.
ReplyDeleteI was just at a class at the Viking store and they had an orange range....equally cool...
