Hooked on Mrs. Howard

I've always admired designer Phoebe Howard's rooms. They're soft and feminine, but clean and simple at the same time.

So I was happy to discover a blog called Mrs. Howard Personal Shopper that keeps us updated on what she's up to. This bedroom, for example, is featured in her new North Carolina showroom. I'm really liking those oversized botanical prints.

Earlier this year, I wrote a post over at my Hooked on Houses blog featuring five bedrooms that Howard designed, all with different color schemes, and had readers vote on their favorite. I was a little surprised by which color won! You can see them for yourself--and see if you agree with how the majority voted--here.

Today I'm joining both Melissa's Beautiful Life party and Hooked on Fridays. Hop on over to see what everyone else is talking about today!

  6. The prints are great, and I really like how they've been hung.

I checked out the bedrooms -- it was a toss-up for me between the lavender room and the brown room. In the end, I went with brown :-)

This is also a beautiful bedroom. Very serene and airy, and the wood ceiling is FAB!!

  8. This is a showroom? Making a cozy bedroom with a tall ceiling is a tough order.
What do you know, we have a big brown wall in our bedroom but I didn't get a vote.

  9. Love her work too! I was totally shocked at the color bedroom that won. It wasn't the one I voted for. I think mine came in third. That was one of my favorite Hooked blogs.

  11. * Sensuous & feminine w/o being "frou frou"... I suspect my DH wouldn't feel tooo intimidated, probably because of the fantastic wood ceiling (which I am in LOVE with!)... and if the settee were more streamlined, I REALLY think I could "get away with it all" because it IS so wonderful, and he's used to my love of white bed linens already... It's really beautiful... calm & serene... I could be verrry happy here!

I also just went back to your old posting of the bedrooms, & the BROWN & WHITE was "MINE, MINE, MINE upon first sight!!! #2, surprizingly enough, was the lavendar room (except I would prefer the two reading chairs be "together", not on opposite sides of the bed, so far apart!)... I thought I'd be one of the few, for some reason (w/ BOTH of my preferences!), & then I saw the results & MY FAV was everyone ELSE'S too!! (Kinda makes a gal feel "validated"!)~~~

I'm not missing ANYTHING BLOGGED about BEDROOMS these days as I'm in the midst (well, actually "STUCK" at the moment!) of a total MBR redo... fun, but wow... sooo much I like and sooo much to choose from!!!

THIS WAS ONE OF YOUR BEST BLOGS EVER, IMHO!!! MANY THANKS!!!
