Kate Hudson's Beach House in Malibu

Guess what Goldie Hawn gave her daughter, actress Kate Hudson, as a wedding present back when she married Chris Robinson? A beach house in Malibu! Lucky girl. Here she is playing on the beach in front of her house with her son Ryder (via People).

According to Radar Online, Kate is renting it out this summer for $90,000 a month. *Cough.* I hope that includes cable.

It's right on the beach and looks like a great place to spend the summer.

The article says it's decorated in a "Balinese" style, but I'm not crazy enough about it to show you all the photos. I guess it's just not my thing. You can see the rest at Celebrity Digs HQ, though.

P.S. I'm giving a tour of Julia Child's former home in Cambridge, Massachusetts, today over at Hooked on Houses.

  2. Oh wow! I'd love that one ... I know I probably drove by while I was out there ... wonder exactly where it is. Although, I was there in June and it was 65 degrees ... coming from Florida, that's cold! Plus, the water is cold out there. Nah, she can keep the house ... I'll stay here! :-)

  3. I very much like the architecture (love the large windows and the roof-line), I like the location (although I'd probably have nightmares about tsunamis!) but agree... not fond of the decor. Also... couldn't pay $90,000/month to live in water-fear!! HaHa!

  6. I assume it's in the swanky, gated and guarded community - can't remember the name of it. Those places rent for astronomical amounts.

  7. I wonder what the place next door would rent for? I do love the floor to ceiling windows and that view!

  8. An old pal is her neighbor, I am always totally clautrophobic visiting there, everything is SOOO tight on the beach in Malibu.

  9. Amazing to see how squished in it is to it's neighbors in that last pic. 90K clams a month...and hearing your neighbor sneeze. Priceless.

  10. Now that's a wedding present. WOW! Does she have to give it back since their marriage didn't work out??

  11. I don't think its in the Colony, that's what make the price seem ambitious.

  14. Okay, this kills me. Us regular people have enough troubles paying our tiny mortgages and putting food on the table and there are people that can afford to pay such an unbelievable monthly rental!? Yikes. Of course, to be on the beach like that probably is quite dreamy - but not quite that dreamy. LOL. Goodness I love all that you show on your blog.

  15. Wouldn't that just be heaven? We're working on buying a piece of lake front property but I'm trying not to get too excited until it's all official :) I hope that it will be a wonderful family gathering place in the future....

  17. My word, I hope that includes more than cable. I nearly choked when I saw that massive figure.

  19. I'll rent the shore house out for a mere fraction of the cost. Sure, I'm no celebrity, but I just found out George C. Scott's second wife lives four doors down. Close enough? ;-)
