When I saw this cozy bedroom posted at Danish Dessert recently, it looked like the perfect spot to snuggle into on a crisp fall day. It also reminded me of one of my favorite movie houses (and bedrooms). Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
It looks like it could've been inspired by Iris's bedroom in one of my favorite "house movies," The Holiday. Iron bed, painted nightstand, beamed ceilings. It has the same warm and welcoming vibe, don't you think? (If you loved Kate Winslet's cottage in The Holiday as much as I did, click here for more photos.)I'm hooked on these cozy cottage bedrooms. Head to Hooked on Houses to see what everyone else is sharing--and to join the Treasure Hunt to win an Amazon gift certificate! I'm also joining the Beautiful Life party over at The Inspired Room.
The movie bedroom seems larger, but other than that it's got the same vibe. I'd pick the movie version, because of the fireplace.
ReplyDeleteBoth these bedrooms have the same feeling. Definitely cozy and welcoming, just what a bedroom should be!
ReplyDeletethese are both perfect for fall! the holiday bedroom is one of my favorites! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that bedroom, Julia! :) The Holiday is one of my faves!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome, snuggly, warm ... who's bringing me a cup of tea in bed, please! Chuckle! Have a lovely weekend. TTFN ~ Marydon
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love cozy rooms. The first home I ever owned was a little cozy place, and I had a plaque with its name on it made to go by the front door. It was called 'Cozhaven' because it was my very own cozy haven.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, what a lovely room. I'm ready for a cup of tea, on the bed with a good book and a roaring fire...ok maybe when it cools down a bit...but I think we all get the picture...it is cozy!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Debbie
We'd take either one!

It does look like it could be from The Holiday! We had 8 girls over here watching it one night, such a hoot as we all swooned over Jude Law.
ReplyDeleteI fell asleep on the couch last night, watching The Holiday for the gazillionth time. Iris's house, in a warm coastal setting, would be the perfect place to plop down for a lifetime.

Very pretty! I love both bedrooms! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteI am so there relaxing in the cozy cottage bedrooms! What fun it would be to have a fireplace in the bedroom -- perfect for our MN winters!
Have a lovely weekend!

Love all those patterns and colors! I wonder if the owners if the first bedroom have ever climbed into that cozy bed and watched "The Holiday" from there!
ReplyDeleteBoth those rooms look too inviting, want to curl up there with a good book and hot tea. Thanks for inspiring ideas on making a cozy space.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rooms. So cozy. It would be hard to get out of bed on Saturdays for sure. I would want to stay there all day.
ReplyDeleteSo cozy.Up in the mountains cozy. Not 90 with 100 percent humidity at the beach cozy.
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'.
And dreamin' ofmountains.
Sigh.
that first bed really looks comfy!!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love your blog! And now I must go watch the notebook! :)
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Teresa
They both make me want to just snuggle in. Love the iron beds:) Have a great weekend Julia.
ReplyDeleteLove both of those bedrooms. They both look so cozy and inviting.
ReplyDeleteChristi
I am so beyond in love that I am breathless.
ReplyDeleteCozy and dreamy, love the pictures. Isn't it amazing how much feeling one little picture can elicit?!
ReplyDeleteI love both the rooms - the layered bed linen, the metal bedsteads, the painted bedside tables and the wooden floors and rugs. But as someone who lives in the UK and has shivered in many a gorgeous cottage, the Holiday one wins because of the fire!
ReplyDeleteI'm easing my way back in gently after a few weeks away from blogging because of illness, overwhelm and exhaustion; your blogs are as good as a tonic. Thank you!
Great cozy bedroom, but I am with janice (above comment) on preferring the one with the fire!
ReplyDeleteOh...I want that bed! I love those rooms - the linens....all of it. It's me!
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie for allowing me to kick off my flip-flops - or right now, I'll say my garden shoes!
Have a wonderful weekend! Lylah
They both are so welcoming.... love the vibe of the rooms.
