I love turquoise. In the spring and summer I fill my house with bright blues and yellows. It just makes me happy. (You could say I'm hooked, which is why I'm linking to Hooked on Fridays!)
So imagine my surprise and delight when Debbie of Ribbonwood Cottage sent me this wonderful old turquoise hand mixer! Why? Just because she knows I love this color.
Debbie wrote me a note saying, "I think blogging is all about giving...after you read someone's blog you begin to realize what they enjoy!"Isn't that thoughtful? Thanks, Debbie! You made my day. I can't wait to find a special spot for it in my kitchen!
I know....you can make yellow cupcakes with pink frosting with your mixer....and send them to me.
ReplyDeleteThe gift that keeps on giving. ;)
Love that old mixer! How sweet of her!
What is it about turquoise and yellow? They are dynamite together! Orange is the color that makes me happiest and I love all primary colors.
ReplyDeleteThat was so thoughtful of Debbie. Blog friends are the best. I am loving orange these days as you know.

Hello, I absolutely adore your site and I just had to leave a note for you to say so !
ReplyDeleteYour posts are interesting, creative and original, and your pictures are great too.
Perfection !
Thank you for sharing them all and best wishes... Happy September
That was so thoughtful! It's a pretty little mixer!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! Your room is so inviting. I love the yellow paired with the turqoise, and that yellow basket is just too cute. I want to come over and just sit and read the next fluffy book on my list. ;) Question: it's hard for me to see the color of the pattern on your couch. Is it black and white? I know I've seen that room in another post, but not sure where to look. :)

ReplyDeleteIt's black and white stripes on the sofa. You can see more photos of it here:

Glad you like it! -Julia :-)
Lucky girl. My kitchen is in red and turquoise. I love it.

Nothing is much better than a little turquoise and yellow. That mixer is fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteHow nice!
ReplyDeleteI think it's color "combinations" that make me happy... cherry red and pale blue,
lemon yellow and cobalt blue, straw yellow and creamy white, jadeite green and warm brown... I could go on, but I'll spare you!
Yet another thing to add to my list of things to watch for in vintage stores... I love it!
ReplyDeleteCheers, from another

All spring and summer, I use turquoise in our accessories. A vase collection and candles. In the autumn, I put away that lovely, beachy color and the seashells (yes, it is difficult to put them out of sight) but then I go for the pumpkin and earthy colors. That segues into Christmas colors which might be greens and reds or it might be pastels. As soon as Valentines day is over, out come the turquoise vases and seashells and everything lightens up. It is my favorite. Sorry for the long comment.

I have a vintage mixer with a pale green handle. I use it from time to time. When I'm making an "old-fashioned" recipe, it just feels right.
ReplyDeleteWow what a wonderful surprise! I love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gift!! Turquoise is probably the happiest color I know. : )

I just added a knit turquoise throw and a large wooden turquoise tray...similar to yours, in my LR and I love it...just the touch it needed.
ReplyDeleteLove your blogs! (of course, so do a lot of people!)
Love turquoise, such a serene yet joyful colour! I really love that yellow glass vase too.
ReplyDeleteOh I love it too! Any hue of turquoise from tealish-sea blue to the deeper tones. It's my new favorite color and this year I'm taking it right through Autumn and the Holidays...I'm treating it (almost) like a neutral...I'll let you know if I crash and burn!!!
ReplyDelete(but I just found some delicious turquoise ribbon with bronze edges!!!)

I have been on a mission of organizing this year, and I begged my sweet husband to paint an old dresser turquoise for my scrapbook room. I LOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteAs always love all your posts, keep up the great work- you're inspiring many of us fellow bloggers.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog because we love so many of the same things. I haven't ever thought of my color as turquoise, but silver sage. I guess because it all started with that color paint from Restoration Hardware. It's the best color! Anyway, sorry, I got carried away there for a second. Love the mixer....it's perfect Lisa~ www.livingmybestlifeii-lisa.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteTurquoise is one of my favorites. Calm, fresh and...just love it!!
ReplyDeletei love that color too!
ReplyDeleteyour images are so lovely
:)
All the primary colors make me happy. It doesn't matter what shade of yellow or red or green or blue. They just float my boat.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
All my life, blue has been my favorite color...until I met my husband. His favorite color is green and somehow I am more and more drawn to that color - because it makes me think of him and smile. Cheesy, I know.
ReplyDeleteTurquoise is a perfect choice for beach cottage decor, when I first moved to the tropics we switched to that color scheme because it blended so well with frangipanis
ReplyDeleteWow, what a kind & thoughtful gesture!! Bloggers are some of the nicest people around -- I've "met" so many kind and generous bloggers in the 8 months that I've been blogging :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your great comment on my yellow vs purple post. I'm looking forward to the colour theory class I'm starting next week, because there's a LOT of things about colour that I want to learn!! Maybe I'll even be able to figure out why I don't like yellow....

That is one of my favorite colors. It's so bright and happy. I love the mixer! Useful and beautiful. That was so nice!
ReplyDeleteGreat color! I'm inspired now to change some of my beach glass cabinet knobs from island blue to turquoise!
